Summary: Freedom and Deliverance

Breakthrough to Blessing (Part 2)

Freedom and Deliverance

Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.

2 Kings 6:16 NKJV

Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today.

Exodus 14:13 NIV

Freedom and deliverance belong to you. Satan knows that once you know the truth, “the truth will make you free” (John 8:32 NKJV).

Believers today are living in bondage. But just like Israel was delivered from Pharaoh, you have been delivered from Satan. Therefore, no shackle or stronghold has the power to hold you captive.

Physical bondages—Addictions and habits

Mental bondages—Fear, depression, guilt, anger

Spiritual bondages—Idolatry, witchcraft

You can be delivered today and walk in freedom.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me . . . to proclaim release to the captives . . . to set free those who are oppressed” (Luke 4:18 NASB).

1. Ask God to show you the spiritual world (2 Kings 6:15–18).

Elisha was surrounded by the armies of Syria but had no sense of fear. His faith enabled him to see the mountain full of horses and chariots of fire. These are the supernatural forces at your disposal.

People don’t know that unseen forces are bringing confusion, strife, and bondage into their lives. You must understand that and trust that God’s forces are far superior to anything Satan can do.

Without lifting a finger, Elisha struck the army blind and led them into the capital city as prisoners of war. Always remember, your weapons are not physical, but spiritual.

2. Ask God to show you that Satan is already defeated (2 Kings 7:3–7).

The city was living in deception. God had already chased the enemy away from them, yet they were living in ignorance of that fact.

The four lepers, however, got the revelation that the enemy was gone.

You need a revelation of Satan’s defeat. On the cross and at the resurrection, Christ spoiled principalities and powers: “He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets” (Col. 2:15 Message).

3. Ask God to show you how to walk out your deliverance (2 Kings 13:15–19).

The king did not know how to receive spiritual freedom. So the prophet helped him, putting his hands over the king’s hands. This is a picture of deliverance. Someone else can set you free, but you must know how to stay free.

The prophet also told the king to take arrows and strike the ground with them (v. 18). The king did, but he stopped after striking the arrows only three times. The prophet told him he should not have stopped so soon, because then the enemy would have been destroyed.

Your freedom will be contested. If you ever relax, the devil will counterattack. For the rest of your life, you must never stop attacking the enemy. This is what it means to walk out your deliverance.
