Summary: Male and Female
Family 101 (Part 1)
Male and Female
This four-part series will include the following titles:
1. “Male and Female”: gender confusion, why God made men and women
2. “Messed Up”: wrong thoughts from the past, premarital fornication, adultery, former marriages, jail, addiction, everything Satan has invented to destroy a family
3. “Day to Day”: routine, schedules, kids, devotions, meals, chores, maintenance, arguments
4. “Money Matters”: job security, insurance, savings, cars, investments).
Session 1: The purpose of this session is to bring clarity to why God made male and female and what causes them to remain attractive to each other for life.
Satan has done everything he can to confuse the genders about their unique roles. This has resulted in role swapping within the marriage and confusion as to why we need the opposite sex to complete us.
“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them” (Gen. 1: 27 NKJV).
“For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man” (1 Cor. 11:7 NKJV).
1. Why do we have male and female?
God created man in His image. God is not male and female. The woman carries the image of God from the man and is called the “glory of man.”
God’s divine order is “the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God” (1 Cor. 11:3).
Evolutionists say that both man and woman evolved from nothing. If that were true, how did the sexes ever split into two separate genetic beings? How did they develop to such a high state of intricate reproduction? How did their differences refine? How have all living creatures maintained those differences?
The true confusion is over whether God is the creator of life because if He is, the following statements are true:
He has the right to assign the proper roles as He chooses.
The generational offspring (children) of His children belong to Him, not to us or the state.
The state comes from God and has the responsibility as His steward to protect the marriage roles and the offspring.
2. What is the attraction between male and female?
Man is attracted to these qualities in his wife:
Soft femininity: This is the feeling of her vulnerability and tenderness.
Facial and physical features: Man’s greatest stimulus is the “eye gate,” and he is mesmerized by the artistic proportions of the female anatomy and delicacy of the female facial features.
Companionship: He draws great pleasure from her presence as his companion. He hates the feeling of being alone and longs for a second presence to accompany him in his home and life experiences.
A woman is attracted to these qualities in her husband:
Strength and voice: The feeling of being protected and covered by a stronger and overpowering leader removes her defenses and arouses her emotions.
Leadership and directness: Strong decisions and action give her a feeling of security and admiration.
Sympathy and understanding: A woman’s greatest stimulus is the “ear gate,” and she longs to be spoken to in a gentle and understanding way.
3. What is the distraction (“turnoff”) between male and female?
A man is turned off by his wife’s:
Loss of grace and poise
Loss of self-respect in her appearance
Loss of respect for him
Loss of order in the home
A woman is turned off by her husband’s:
Sex without sympathy
Helplessness and distraction
Answering without listening
Excuses without productivity
Loss of trust in lying, flirting, and lust
