Summary: Death does not have the abiliity to hold what God has already spoke to.

Death Watch Him for Me

John 11: 1-15

1Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. 2(It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.) 3Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. 4When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. 5Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. 6When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was. 7Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again. 8His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again? 9Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. 10But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him. 11These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. 12Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. 13Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. 14Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. 15And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.

Vs. 1-2 Jesus had met the needs of outsiders, the lest he could do was meet the needs of those he considered family.

Mary is distinguished because there were other women with the name Mary that had not done what she had done, this Mary is known for her care for Jesus at her own costly expense, not only was it costly it was a liberal sacrifice and a gesture of love and devotion to Jesus which was a clear display of worship at a tune of $25,747.20 (An Average Years Salary for A Laborer) A Years wages. Real worship costs

Vs. 3 Fair Exchange Is no robbery – Your dedication will keep the realms of possibility accessible or at your beckon call

Love hears- God’s love keeps His ears open to our cries (Ps. 34:12–16).

Vs. 4 This is God setting things In order – For many of us death is not the final result

Love waits (4–6). We think that love must act immediately, but sometimes delay brings a greater blessing: “God’s delays are not God’s denials.” Jesus gave them a promise to encourage them while they waited (v. 4). The promise seemed to have failed, but Jesus knew what He was doing.

Vs. 11 Jesus is not going to Bethany to perform a miracle alone but to strengthen the faith of those who will believe that the father gets the glory. Wake up The Sleepers

Death w/ keep anything until Jesus comes to wake it up-Matured in Time-The timing is right

Vs. 12-13 Your lack of knowledge is not ignorance, it’s simply misunderstanding of Divine Revelation.

Vs. 14-15 The disciples are there as Jesus tells them that dead things only sleep even though they are dead, by his perception nothing that’s connected to him is dead it only sleeps, moreover, he speaks of the blessing of them being there, because you’re here you’re about to gain new territory and a new audience, Not because of your worth but because you have assumed it through to transfer.

They will believe in you because the saw you connected to the one that paved the way or opened the door

Just because it’s dead does not mean it’s final, it’s only in a holding pattern.

Love risks (7–16). It was dangerous for Jesus to return to Judea, but He went just the same. The raising of Lazarus helped to precipitate the plans that led to His death (vv. 45–57).
