I love this story! It’s a story of incredible, undeserved kindness. We live in a harsh world, and while there are stories of kindness out there, it’s far too uncommon. The world will show kindness to its own, but we are called to show kindness to anyone and everyone, even our enemies. But why?
1. Mephibosheth Who was Mephiboshet? —Background: II Sam. 4:4 —He was a cripple. 2. Belonging In A Better Place

King Saul had just died. David had been anointed king for the second time. Now he looked at the city of Jerusalem (a Jebusite stronghold) and said to himself, "I"m going to take that city. That is where I belong as the King of Israel."
This story unfolds in four main points: 1. David’s Desire for Jerusalem (v. 6a) It’s interesting that the Bible does not say anything about David’s desire to take Jerusalem. The parable of the Prodigal Son is an amazing story, one of love, abandonment, and grace. It is the story of one man’s journey to find his ultimate fulfillment only to realize that the fulfillment was right there at home all along.
