Love, we all need it. We all want it, but we rarely get it. We long for others to love us. But most people don't have any love to give. Most humans only know selfish love.

To love the unlovely and the unloveable is inconceivable. But that is just exactly what God did for all of us. We, who were corrupt through sin became the beneficiaries of eternal life through the sacrificial death of Christ.
What motivated God the Father to send His one and only cherished Son to earth to die for us? Why would the holy Son of God want to come into a wicked world? Tradition has it that Valentine was a third century martyr who demonstrated his love through his life and sacrificial death. We all should aspire to this kind of love. When we love God with all our heart we can enjoy God's unconditional, sacrificial love.
