The primary source of our failure to be externally focused Christians and an inside out church is found in the tension between the development of the inward life the saint and his outward life.

We tend to think that the whole goal is to “get saved.” But God wasn‟t interested in just saving us a future eternity. Jesus came to start a revolution in the here and now! Jesus came to turn the world right side up and inside out.

The two things that break God’s heart are people in need and people in greed. God’s people must be those who minister to those in need and never tainted by greed.

When our mind is set up on the things of the Spirit, we will be “outward focused.” When our mind is set upon the things of the flesh, we re “inward focused.” Thanksgiving directs our attention toward God.
