We hallow the name of God not only with our lips but also with our lives.

2. God's Ultimate Future And Urgent Present

The kingdom for which we pray in the Lord's Prayer will come in fullness in the perfect future which God has planned. In the meantime, it is urgent that we demonstrate the kingdom's values in the present.

In the Lord's Prayer, Jesus connects God's forgiveness of us with our forgiveness of others. To forgive is, then, "an act of radical self-interest."
