1. Don't Waste Your Life

It is not enough to have great potential or show great promise. It is what you do with that potential that makes all the difference. A good beginning does not guarantee a good end. End your life well, to the glory of God.

Take responsibility for your sin, ask for God's forgiveness, trust in God's intervention, resolve to serve God again.

4. God Will Do What Is Good

God will do what is good in His sight. We trust Him by doing what is right and leaving the rest to Him. Doing what is right will cost us, but it is the right thing to do.

5. Wait On God

Wait on God. His timetable is not always the same as ours. His ways are different from ours. God's concern is not in bringing us to a destination but in transforming us into the likeness of His Son.

Abner was driven by his own will, his own gains, and his own ambition. Such godless pursuits lead him to a life of vanity and fruitless end.

Be patient with God. Don't take matters into your own hands. Give God time. Focus on the Person of God, and not the promises.

David wants to build God a house, and God in turn reveals that He wants to build David a house, one that is eternal. God has in mind the salvation of the world. He wants to dwell in the hearts of every believer.

17. Man's Desires, God's Will

When man's desires take precedent, we lose sight of God's will. We need to "sanctify" our desires by seeking God to know His will and surrender our will to His ways.
