When Naomi's faith fails, God provides faith to Ruth--a foreigner, who could only be reached by grace. The faith God gives to Ruth rescues Naomi.

Ruth has 3 strikes against her: a widow, a foreigner, and fatherless. God provides by the law of gleaning, and the righteousness of Boaz.

Ruth is a love story, not about romantic love, but faithful love (Hebrew "hesed"), shown by Boaz, and reflecting the love of God.

Boaz is the "goel"--the guardian-Redeemer. God is the Redeemer, and Jesus is our Kinsman-Redeemer.
