One of the great characteristics of the body of Christ is to care about the burdens and sufferings of one another. However, as we seek to console and encourage friends that have been offended, we may be tempted to take up their offense against another.

In sympathy, we may tend to take their part against the pastor, the church or whoever they blame for the offense.
