1. Missing Pieces
Contributed on Aug 25, 2020
Knowledge of God’s Word and doctrine is an important part of Christian growth and maturity; it is not enough, but it is foundational. We vary, one from another, in our relationship to it.
Missing Pieces (Acts 18:24-28; 19:1-10) 1. A not-so- bright gal calls her boyfriend and says, “Please come over here and help me. I have a killer jigsaw puzzle, and I can’t figure out how to get it started.” He asks, “What is it supposed to be when it’s finished?” The girl says, “According to the ...read more

2. Superstition Or Faith?
Contributed on Aug 31, 2020
Biblical Christianity is superior to magic and superstition. Yet we need to rout our superstition in our own lives, too. Biblical faith has no room for superstition.
Superstition or Faith? (Acts 19:11-20) 1. I think it is bad luck to believe in superstition. That’s a joke. “The number 13, black cats, breaking mirrors, or walking under ladders, may all be things you actively avoid – if you’re anything like the 25% of people in the US who consider themselves ...read more

3. A Regular Riot
Contributed on Sep 8, 2020
Pagan society and the Gospel do not mix. If we stay true to the Word, we can expect opposition. This opposition highlights that we are in the midst of a spiritual battle.
A Regular Riot (Acts 19:21-40) 1. Sept. 1 2020 (UPI) -- An American Airlines pilot preparing to land in Los Angeles reported an unusual encounter at about 3,000 feet with a "guy in a jetpack." A recording of the conversation between the pilot and air traffic control Sunday evening at ...read more

4. Worth The Effort
Contributed on Sep 14, 2020
It takes great effort to build up (edify) believers with the Word of God, both on the part of those who teach and those who learn. But it is worth it.
Worth the Effort (Acts 20:1-12) 1, This week, I watched part of a White Sox baseball game from two weeks agon on youtube. It was nice to be able to fast forward and see the more interesting moments. Which brings on a joke. 2. Have you heard about the first baseball game in the Bible? In the ...read more

5. The Complete Package
Contributed on Oct 5, 2020
For a truly solid, God-honoring ministry, integrity, comprehensive Biblical teaching, or accuracy in presenting the Gospel are not individually enough; we must have all three.
The Complete Package (Acts 20:17-21) 1. Mel Blanc was one of my favorite comedians, the man of a million voices. 2 He did all the Looney Tune voices – Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, The Martian, Speedy Gonzales, Sylvester and Tweety Bird, Daffy Duck – and many others. 3. These words are ...read more

6. Keeping Kingdom Central Despite Life’s Winding Paths
Contributed on Oct 12, 2020
All believers are stewards of the Kingdom of God. As we meander through life, we need to face the realities about keeping the Kingdom a priority while doing what we can to improve its future impact.
Keeping Kingdom Central Despite Life’s Winding Paths (Acts 20:22-36) 1, Life can be filled with amazing coincidences. 2. Stephen and Helen Lee had just gotten engaged when they made a shocking family discovery. While looking through family photos during their engagement party in New York, they ...read more

7. Ominous Journey
Contributed on Oct 27, 2020
Determining, doing, and accepting the uncertainties of our ability to determine God’s will is not as clear or objective as mathematics, but is part of our journey as believers.
Ominous Journey (Acts 21:1-16) Main Idea: Determining, doing, and accepting the uncertainties of our ability to determine God’s will is not as clear or objective as mathematics, but is part of our journey as believers. I. Strange. Were the Prophets Were Trying to DIVERT Paul from God’s Will? ...read more
