1. "Finding God's Strength"
Contributed on Sep 15, 2014
Like many of the teachings of Jesus, the words He spoke did not really go along with the popular views of the day. Listen again to what he said…blessed are the meek…they will inherit the earth. This is certainly not the teaching that is found in the business world today.
Finding God’s Strength Matthew 5:5 and 11:28-30 The setting for the message this morning is found in one of the highlights of the ministry of Jesus. His ministry had its share of highs and lows but this was definitely one of his finer moments. In the background, Jesus had just gone ...read more

2. Breaking Free
Contributed on Oct 29, 2014
If you have ever attempted to repair anything you know that this can happen. You mean well. You are making an honest attempt but you just make things worse. It happens to pastors of course also.
“Breaking Free” Matthew 5:7 & 9 100 women were asked to name something men try to fix but often just make it worse. These were their top answers. 1. Plumbing 41 2. Car 13 3. TV 9 4. Relationship 6 5. Fight ...read more

3. Recycling Our Pain
Contributed on Nov 3, 2014
Our scripture for today falls into this category of verses I don’t understand when I first read them. Here it is. Happy are those who are persecuted.
“Recycling our Pain” Matthew 5:10 In my personal study of the gospels one of the things I have noticed is that some of the teachings of Jesus are just very difficult for us to follow. At times when we read them they don’t even make sense. For instance, Jesus ...read more

4. Help, I've Fallen And I Can't Get Up!"
Contributed on Dec 21, 2014
All of us need to understand that temptation is universal. If you ever meet someone who is never tempted by anything there is only one conclusion you can draw about that person. They’re dead.
LIFE’S HEALING CHOICES “Help, I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!” James 1:13-17 For the past seven weeks we have been looking at the hurts, habits and hang-ups that all of us deal with. In this process of RECOVERY we have walked through 6 choices we must make to ...read more

5. Keep The Change
Contributed on Jun 8, 2015
When we talk about real change, we are talking about transformation. Like an artist who takes a blank palette and paints a beautiful picture—the end product in no way resembles the original.
“Keep the Change” Matthew 5:9 and Romans 12:1-2 I think we call all agree today that the Bible is an amazing book. 66 books, not written by one man, but 39 written over a period of 1500 years. And there is a thread that runs through the scripture from Genesis to Revelation that ...read more

6. Recycling Our Pain
Contributed on Jun 8, 2015
Listen. God never wastes a hurt. What good is a trial if something good doesn’t come from it? Let’s look at the first of two questions I want us to try to answer.
“Recycling our Pain” Matthew 5:10 In my personal study of the gospels one of the things I have noticed is that some of the teachings of Jesus are just very difficult for us to follow. At times when we read them they don’t even make sense. For instance, Jesus ...read more

7. No Pain, No Gain
Contributed on Sep 15, 2014
It’s a simple statement that tells us this—before you will experience the benefits of exercises you have to first experience some pain. In order to get physically fit there is a level of pain you must go through. Same with our spiritual growth.
LIFE’S HEALING CHOICES “No pain, no gain” Matthew 5:4 If you have ever been to the gym or read anything about getting physically fit then you have probably heard this statement before: NO PAIN, NO GAIN It’s a simple statement that tells us this—before you ...read more
