The Book of Jonah, like the Story of Good Samaritan, is designed to remind us who we are; sinners saved by the grace of God, in need of repentance from our willfulness and obedience to the Heavenly Father by sharing the Good News.

The stories of the Rich Young Ruler and of Mary and Martha show that Christians need the discipline of denying self, learning of Christ and following HIm in order to find peace.
