Othniel delivered God’s people through battle and there was peace for God’s people for forty years. Don’t get in the trap that repeats itself twelve times through the book of Judges with sin, punishment, repentance and deliverance. Don’t forget all the good things the Lord has done for you.

2. Deborah Rises In Strength

God used Deborah who was strong. She was strong because her strength was in the Lord. The Lord can use you if you are strong in the Lord. He could use you to rebuild a broken family. He could use you to do more than you can ask or imagine.
When our difficulties arise some people might say, we have a problem. There are a few rare individuals who say, in the same situation, we have an opportunity. 3. The Lord Is Peace

Israel stopped listening to God. But there was hope when Gideon met Jehovah-Shalom, the Lord our peace. If you have stopped listing to God, you need the presence of God. You need the prince of peace, Jesus Christ. God’s peace will deliver you from bondage.
If you ever get the experience to go to the holy land, then let me predict how the trip will begin for you. First you will fly to Tel Aviv and go through the tight security. 4. Gideon: To God Be The Glory

God used Gideon not because he was strong or a military genius, but because Gideon was weak. There was to be no doubt that the glory for the victory and deliverance of Israel goes to God. There is a hero in the Gideon story and the hero is the Lord God Almighty.
Gideon’s name is synonymous with victory against the odds. Gideon led an army of 300 elite fighting men and whipped up on an army of 135,000. Yes, Samson was the strongest man in the world. But there was a glaring character flaw. No one could defeat Samson matching strength to strength. They did not have to match his strength because all they needed to do was to exploit his inner weakness.
Ask any Sunday School child who is the strongest man in the Bible. There will be no hesitation. It is Samson. The story of Samson is a tale of 2 Samsons. In Judges 13-15 we see Samson is the strongest man in the world and full of pride. In chapter 16 he is weak blind and in shackles. Guess which Samson God used to deliver his people?
