Hosea knew pain and grief of his love trampled. Hosea poured out his love to his wife Gomer, only to have his trust betrayed. But that is what made Hosea such a unique and powerful prophet. The names of his three children are changed to a blessing in the Messianic hope.

2. Could Your Tragedy Be The Result Of God’s Love?

Hosea has a message of warning about a judgment coming. The purpose of this judgment is to cause brokenness that leads God’s people to a turning back to God. The purpose is for Israel in their brokenness to turn and restore their relationship to God.

Hosea chapter 3 is heart of the book of Hosea and an important chapter in the Old Testament. It shows a picture that reminds Christians of the love of God who sent Christ to ransom us from our slavery and sin. To pay the price to redeem for us.

At first glance these were great days to be alive. But, a warning from the prophet Hosea revealed a deep-seated spiritual bankruptcy. The prophet Hosea gave a message of hope in the midst of coming judgment. Hosea’s preaching includes an appeal to repent.

5. True Repentance

“Come, let us return to the Lord.” (Hosea 6:1) Jesus went to the house of many tax collectors and sinners. The Pharisees saw this and asked why Jesus eats with tax collectors and sinners. In that context Jesus Quotes Hosea 6:6 (found in Matthew 9:13).
The story of the prodigal son gives us a great picture of repentance. The prodigal has messed up big time and ended up in a terrible situation, eating pig slop just to survive. Israel is a cake half baked, burned on one side and raw on the other. Actually, a cake like that would be totally useless. The good news God wants to restore. Put your faith in Christ. Turn from the half-baked lifestyle Live fully committed to Jesus Christ.

7. The Compassion Of God

The message of Hosea 11 is for you and me, not only wayward Israel. The family life of Hosea and his wife Gomers serve as is an illustration of how our sin breaks the heart of God. Now the focus is on God’s compassion and redemption.
There is a difference between compassion and concern. If a man falls off an ocean liner, we will show concern by yelling man overboard and look for help.
