Christmas is a controversial issue for many. We need to be tolerant of other points of view and be reminded to appreciate the birth of Jesus all year.

2. His Gift - Our Gift

God has given us the greatest gift imaginable in Jesus -- it compels us to want to give a gift to him. The ultimate gift we can give is ourselves which we show by doing justly; loving mercy; and walking humbly with Him.
1. I put a question on the church’s FB page: “What is one of your favorite Christmas memories?” Responses had to do with family and with gifts (Santa stories). 2. We think of the new year as a new direction for our lives. God offers us new directions every day.
1. The Bible has a great deal to say about “New” • New Covenant • New Heart • New Life • New Way • New Creation, to name a few 2. We tend to view the New Year as our big opportunity to restart.
