Contributed on Dec 14, 2009
No sooner is he breathing and looking around and he is given a PURPOSE. In fact even before he is created from the dust of the ground God already gave him a purpose.

2. Genesis 9 – Part 2 – Preacher Of Righteousness Found Drunk And Naked!
Contributed on Jan 15, 2010
It’s as if a beautiful woman has seduced them by her charms. They make jokes and flirt with her, but they are flirting with a killer. It’s still the highest cause of road deaths in Australia.
Genesis 9 – Part 2 – PREACHER OF RIGHTEOUSNESS FOUND DRUNK AND NAKED! The Bible is so honest! After Noah obeys God and builds an Ark, after he honours God and builds an altar, after he intercedes for generations to come and God answers his prayers, after all that – he goes away ...read more

3. Genesis 9 – Part 3 – If I Call My Dad An Idiot, Am I Cursed?
Contributed on Jan 25, 2010
It’s interesting that the first time wine is mentioned in the Bible, it is connected with drunken behaviour. BUT IT IS HAM’S DISRESPECT, NOT NOAH’S FAILURES THAT FEATURE IN THIS STORY.
Genesis 9 – Part 3 – IF I CALL MY DAD AN IDIOT, AM I CURSED? Here’s the story – Noah gets drunk and gets naked in his tent. He behaves badly. He fails in terms of his witness to his family. He fails God in that he’s way out of control. It’s interesting ...read more

Wine is mentioned for the first time in the Bible, and it is connected with drunken behaviour. But it is Ham’s disrespect, not Noah’s failures that feature in this story.
Genesis 9 – Part 4 – AM I SUPPOSED TO RESPECT MY OLD MAN IF HE’S AN IDIOT? By now you remember the story – Noah gets drunk and gets naked in his tent. He behaves badly. He fails in terms of his witness to his family. He fails God in that he’s way out of control. ...read more

5. Genesis 9 – Part 6 – Are My Kids Cursed When I Criticise My Parents?

Sure, Noah behaves badly. He gets drunk and naked in his tent. He fails his family. He fails God in that he’s way out of control. But remember it is Ham’s disrespect, not Noah’s failures that feature in this story.
Genesis 9 – Part 6 – ARE MY KIDS CURSED WHEN I CRITICISE MY PARENTS? What grandfather would curse his grandson? Especially since the bone he had to pick was with his son, not his grandson. And the horrible thing is that God seems to go along with the curse! History shows that ...read more

7. Genesis 10 – Who Will Remember Me When I Am Gone?
Contributed on Feb 9, 2010
Kittim and Rodanim were in this genealogy. So who cares? God does obviously! Ever feel like your just a name like that, lost in the pages of history and of no real significance?
Genesis 10 – WHO WILL REMEMBER ME WHEN I AM GONE? Last night I attended Hillsong’s Church’s Vision Night for leaders with my daughter and son-in-law. We were in the first 3 rows and the music was awesome. I somehow ended up sitting between them and felt a little conspicuous. Completely inspiring ...read more

8. Genesis 10 – Part 2 – When I Shy Away, Don’t Break My Neck!
Contributed on Feb 10, 2010
Sometimes throughout history God has had to break us in order to deal with our sin, not in anger but with true justice and love. We die to the old way of life in order to live for Christ.
Genesis 10 – Part 2 – WHEN I SHY AWAY, DON’T BREAK MY NECK! I don’t know much about my family tree but I know my grandfather was a tough man who broke horses and had a team of about 40 Clydesdale horses which he used to haul logs. My Dad once drove a team right through a ...read more

9. Genesis 11 – Part 1 - Does God Approve Of Racism?
Contributed on Feb 11, 2010
God divided the languages and scattered them all over the world. Now why did the Lord do this? Does God approve of racism? It seems God wanted racial separation, not based on skin colour but on language? Why? God is not a racist! So what is happening here
Genesis 11 – Part 1 - DOES GOD APPROVE OF RACISM? Sydney has major shopping malls. I mean big and crowded with people. I couldn’t help thinking that as I looked down the floor of Westmead Shopping Centre in Sydney, there within a short space, were over 300 people walking towards me. ...read more

If Nimrod had been around today, he would have had action dolls made in his image. He would have had a following of kids all around the world. And I think Nimrod had something to do with the strange happenings of Genesis 11.
Genesis 11 – Part 2 – SUPER HEROES, SKYSCRAPERS AND ASTROLOGY! I think it had something to do with Nimrod! My grandson loves super heroes. He has videos of “Ben Ten” He stands there and with a big voice declares “I am Tahmongasaur!” (I think he means to ...read more

11. Genesis 11 - Part 3 - Exactly What Is It You Are Trying To Build?
Contributed on Feb 13, 2010
Today the Burj Khalifa skyscraper is the tallest building in the world in downtown Dubai. The tower of Babel was going to be a new urban masterpiece. This would make Babylon a focal point in the ancient world. What are you building?
Genesis 11 - Part 3 - EXACTLY WHAT IS IT YOU ARE TRYING TO BUILD? Before I came to Sydney I was teaching at a Discipleship Training School in the Whitsundays for YWAM. Genesis 4 – How to Stop Playing the Anger Game 1. The Game – “I don’t care and you can’t make me!” I have never really had a problem with anger, but the closest I have come was in a classroom. Teaching in a highschool can be very stressful, and I had put some guys on detention and was ...read more

13. Genesis 11 – Part 4 – Unity And Creativity At What Cost?
Contributed on Feb 14, 2010
Let me get this straight. GOD LOVES UNITY, MY CREATIVE ABILITIES AND ENTERPRISE! He made me like this. So what is the big deal with stopping the tower of Babel being built?
Genesis 11 – Part 4 – UNITY AND CREATIVITY AT WHAT COST? What interests me in this passage is that God saw the unity of the people (Genesis 11:6), who had a single purpose and a single language, the ability to plan things and execute them efficiently and effectively, tremendous ...read more

14. Part 1 - Genesis 12:1-20 - Ok, He’s Dead! What Have I Inherited?
Contributed on Mar 9, 2010
Some criticize him for staying in Haran saying that he fell short of the promises of God, distracted by the attraction of wealth. I don’t think he was saying, OK, HE’S DEAD! WHAT HAVE I INHERITED? But he did stay in Haran until his father died.
Part 1 - Genesis 12:1-20 (NASB) - OK, HE’S DEAD. WHAT HAVE I INHERITED? I understand the upheaval of moving to a different city. Contributed on Mar 10, 2010
I can't imagine packing the removal truck and saying to the driver to pull out without knowing what town you wanted him to go to. "DON'T ASK QUESTIONS! JUST DRIVE!" Sounds like a terrorist trying to hijack a vehicle.
Part 2 - Genesis 12:1-9 - DON'T ASK QUESTIONS, JUST DRIVE! When God hijacks your life! If you have kids, you know the routine. Five minutes into the trip they are asking "WHERE ARE WE GOING? WHEN DO WE GET THERE? ARE WE THERE YET?" At least Abram didn't have any kids, because he would have had a ...read more

16. Part 3 - Genesis 12:10 - 20 - This Service Has Been Disconnected
Contributed on Mar 11, 2010
In Genesis 12:10 in lean times, "Abram went down to Egypt". There is no mention of Abram calling out to God. He's a business man. He just makes a logical decision, but it is decision that is devoid of the promises God gave him. DISCONNECTION big time!

Abram is no wimp. He quickly mobilizes "318 trained men who had been born into his household." (Genesis 14:14). The fact that they were trained means that Abram was always prepared for battle. I need that kind of preparedness.

20. Part 2 - Genesis 14:17-24 - Tithing Without A Gun Held To My Head
Contributed on Mar 16, 2010
"Paying tithes? That's UNDER THE OLD TESTAMENT LAW. It just doesn't apply today." Someone draws out Genesis 14:17-24 from it's holster like a Colt Peacemaker six-gun and recites "ABRAHAM PAID TITHES 500 YEARS BEFORE THE LAW!" but was it an imaginary gun?
Part 2 - Genesis 14:17-24 - TITHING WITHOUT A GUN HELD TO MY HEAD Most Television Preachers and many well known and Respected Pastors would all agree that TITHING IS FOR TODAY.
