2. Monday - Cursing Fig Trees And Cleansing Temples

On Monday of Jesus' final week of earthly life, he cursed the fig tree and cleansed the temple. Both activities symbolized God's judgment on the fruitless religion of Israel. As disciple of Christ, we must be faithful and fruitful, and not cause others to stumble.

3. Tuesday - Opening Closed Minds And Penetrating Callused Hearts

On Tuesday of the final week of Jesus' earthly life, He spent the day teaching His disciples, the crowds and the religious leaders. His teaching was designed to confront some and comfort others. The choice is always ours.

4. Wednesday - An Extravagant Giver And A Ruthless Taker

These two stories of the extravagant giver and the ruthless taker are excellent examples of what we should and should not be. Both people were very close to Jesus, but ended up having very different reactions to him. Jesus loved them both in spite of what they did to Him.
A. We might oversimplify things by saying that the world is made up of two kinds of people: givers and takers, but there is some truth to that statement. B. 5. Thursday - An Evening Full Of Surprises

Thursday evening was full of surprises as Jesus ate the Passover meal with His disciples. During the evening, Jesus washed their feet, and announced that one of them would betray Him, another would deny Him, and all of them would desert Him. They must have thought He was kidding, but He wasn't!

6. Friday - The Innocent One Is Condemned, Crucified, And Buried

On that Friday, of the last week of Jesus' earthly life, He was condemned, crucified, and buried. God's amazing plan for redemption and God's great love for us was on display through the awful events of that day. To follow Jesus requires that we pick up the cross daily and follow Him.

7. Saturday - The Day Of Darkness And Hopelessness

The biblical record of what took place on that Saturday between crucifixion Friday and resurrection Sunday is very brief. It was the Sabbath, and the disciples kept the Sabbath. There are important lessons for us to learn from what the disciples were surely going through on that dark Saturday.

8. Sunday - Resurrection Day - The Day Of Joy And Amazement

After the dark and depressing days of crucifixion Friday and silent Saturday, came resurrection Sunday. The tomb was empty and Jesus appeared to Mary, Peter, two disciples, and to all the apostles. And they were all filled with joy and amazement.

9. Forty Days - From Resurrection To Ascension

After the resurrection day appearances of Jesus, He made many other important appearances during the next 40 days until He returned to heaven. Those important appearances included He gave the great commission, recommissioned Peter, and ascended before their eyes. He is coming again!
