The church was flourishing until some false teachers came and disrupted the growth and confused their theology. The letter was written to encourage the believers to combat errors in the church, the most dangerous being the deprecation of Christ

2. An Outpouring Of Thankfulness

Paul’s prayer burst into an overflow of thankfulness & praise. This thankfulness was because their lives demonstrated that God was at work in them and in the church. The Gospel was bearing fruit in & through their lives.

3. Reconciled Through Christ

The Colossians believers had become recipients of God’s marvelous act of reconciliation. They had been made acceptable to God and are challenged to continue striving forward in the truth that had saved them.

For many Christianity is just not working for them. That may be the reason so many Christians have so little real impact on others, on their world. They live without a clear purpose. God designed and created you for a purpose; His purpose.

The Bible is God’s Word to the world. It is God’s treasure chest. If we are to find God’s treasure we must find Jesus. The surest place to find Jesus is in the Bible. As we get to know Jesus we discover the hidden treasure of God.
