Ash Wednesday (B). Too often we focus on our outward behavior, our sins. But the root of our problem is not sins, but sin, our sinful nature. Joel urges us to "Turn to God and live."

2. Ashes Of Temptation

Lent I (B) midweek. The source of temptation is our own sinful desires within us. Therefore, we look to Christ who purifies our hearts, to deliver us from temptation.

Lent 2 (B) midweek. By grace Christ has changed us from sons of disobedience to children of God. Therefore, we do not walk in sin, but we walk in His path of righteousness, doing the works He has prepared for us to do.

Lent 5 B midweek. By His suffering, Christ totally identifies with our human condition, and is therefore able to make a perfect sacrifice in our place. Therefore, we are reassured of the completeness of salvation in Christ
