Peter tells us that we are God’s chosen people, but we are currently living as foreigners in a world not meant for us.

2. A Heavenly Inheritance

Peter is writing to believers who are scattered, pressured, and facing trials. Yet he does not begin by focusing on their problems. He begins by focusing on God's mercy. Before he addresses their suffering, he reminds them of their heavenly inheritance.
