Some people come to the Bible or to any work of great literature without the capacity to understand what is in it. They are like a person who comes to a well for a drink of water, only to find that there is no bucket to draw the water out of the well. When people say, "I don’t get anything out the Bible", it is quite possible that they came without the necessart equipment.
A man once walked through a great art gallery, looking scornfully at the paintings on the wall. "Are these masterpieces?" he mocked. "I sure don’t think much of them."
The attendant standing by responded, "These paintings are not on trial. Their worth has been proven long ago and through many generations. Friend, YOU are the one who is on trial here!"
