NEED PROTECTION?
Police sharpshooters were called to a scene in Rochester, NY. They surrounded a car because they noticed there was a man in the back seat with a rifle. The police attempted to negotiate with him but he wouldn’t respond. So they watched and waited. There was no movement. Finally, the police discovered the truth.
The armed man in the backseat was a mannequin. When the authorities tracked down the owner of the car, he told them he kept the mannequin in his backseat for protection. He said, “You’ve got to do this. With the car-jackings, it helps if it looks like you’ve got a passenger.”
There’s no doubt we live in dangerous times. But who is it you’re relying on for protection? A mannequin or the Mighty One? Jesus said He’s the gate; He said He is willing to be our protector.
