Did you know that every second people take 591 photographs? That’s 51.1 million every day. Why do we do that? We take 3 billion photographs just during the November December holiday season. That’s a lot of photos.! They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, so that would be a big book, wouldn’t? 3 billion photos during the holiday season is a lot of words! Why do we do that? (-- USA Today, 12-17-93, p. 1D.)
We spend all that money on all those photographs to augment our memory, so that we can remember. We human beings need all the crutches we can get to augment our memory. The Bible makes an interesting statement in Prov. 10:7: (NIV) "The memory of the Righteous will be a blessing!" That will be a blessing. The memory of the righteous will be a blessing--that’s because they will be remembering good things. If you store good things in your mind, that’s going to be a great blessing to you.
