THE CATEGORICAL IMPERATIVE
The Golden Rule is common sense. The most concise version is to be found in the works of Immanuel Kant and goes by the name of the Categorical Imperative:
"Act only according to that maxim whereby you can at the same time will that it should become a universal law."
