How many of you go straight to joy when you’re in a trial?
Kind of wonder about people like that – tend more like chippie…
Anyone here own a parakeet? – cleaning is hassle – Chippies owner vacuuming feathers off floor – brilliant idea! – vacuum bottom of cage… don’t try this at home kids…
The phone rang, and she turned to pick it up… and "ssssopp!" No more Chippie! – problem solved! - The bird owner gasped, put down the phone, turned off the vacuum, and opened the bag. There was Chippie -- still alive, but stunned.
Poor thing covered in dust – so raced to faucet – held Chippie under the running water. – wet and shivering, she did what any compassionate bird owner would do . . . she reached for hair dryer and blasted Chippie with hot air. Poor Chippie.
A few days later, Chippie’s owner was asked how the bird was doing. "Well," she replied, "Chippie doesn’t sing much anymore -- he just sits and stares."
Isn’t that how we respond to trials? – takes the song right out…
How do you get to joy when going through trials? – Don’t focus on trial!
