Webster’s *New World Dictionary* says:
"Saint Patrick’s Day - March 17, observed by the Irish in honor of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland"
But Eavey’s *History of Christian Education* says:
"Patrick went to Ireland from England about the year 432 and evangelized the country. Though a man of limited educational opportunity, he encouraged learning, laying the foundation for an Irish church that was devoted to the Word of God.
