God answers his people. In the days of his uncertainty John Bunyan was tortured by doubt. “Everyone dost think his own religion rightest, both Jews and Moors and pagans. And how, if all our faith in Christ and scripture should be but a think-so, too?” But when the light broke, he ran out crying aloud, “Now I know I know” The Christian hope is more than wistful thinking; it is hope that will be turned into reality.
You probably know the old story about one fellow in the crowd that was watching the church as it burned. Somebody sarcastically observed that this was the first time he had been in church in years. He countered that this was the first time the church had been on fire in years.
