Boomer Women Keep Working: Nearly half of boomers (born 1946-1964) plan to work past retirement simply because they need the money, according to an Allstate Financial survey. The number of working women older than 55 is expected to rise 52% during the next decade, from 8.2 million to 12.4 million claims the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
