Religious Expression in Schools is OK The Department of Education states in its recent document, Religious Expression in Public Schools: A Statement of Principles, “Students may express their religious beliefs about religion in the form of homework, artwork and other written and oral assignments, free of discrimination based on the religious content of their submissions. Such homework and classroom work should be judged by ordinary academic standards of substance and relevance, and against other legitimate teaching concerns identified by the school.” For a copy of the document, call 888-447-2736.
