Evangelical Christians Are: (1) Slightly more likely to be female and aged 50 and older than the overall national adult population. (2) Somewhat less likely to be college grads than the total population, but incomes mirror the national population. (3) Most prevalent in the South, least so in the East and, match the general U.S. population in the West. (4) 54% Republican and 22% Democrat vs. 35% and 33% of the total population respectively. (5) 60% conservatives, compared with 40% nationwide, and they are less likely to identify themselves as moderates or liberals. (Gallup Alert 12/2/05)
