Ed Kerr has written a song entitled “Let Your Spirit Fall Here,” a song which perfectly verbalizes the heartfelt desire and plea to receive the help, power, and presence of the Lord God. The song’s chorus says,
Let Your Spirit fall here / Wind from Heaven blow
Purify our hearts today / Fire of Heaven glow
Manifest Your glory / Boldly now we call
Nothing else will satisfy / Let Your Spirit fall.
The first verse, though, begins with the line: “We humbly seek Your face.” God’s Spirit cannot truly fall here— bringing revival, awakening, boldness, and miracles in its wake— until we humble ourselves before Almighty God.
