SOMETIMES THEY GO TO HEAVEN
The city of Oceanside, in Southern California, is feeling a bit empty these days because it is located near Camp Pendleton, the US Marine base that has recently shipped many of it’s young Marines away to fight in the war in Iraq.
The town seems empty, but its store windows are filled with signs that say ""We support our president and our military" and "This property protected by Americans." Pacific Coast Highway is lined with American flags.
The people of Oceanside are taking this war in Iraq very personally, because it seems that so many of their own have been sent away to fight.
Robert Alexander runs a military uniform and surplus store in Oceanside. He said his 5-year-old daughter was aware of events in Iraq.
