Let me remind you of another benefit of salvation by the blood of Jesus. When you accept the free gift of salvation, you receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The power of the Holy Spirit is what makes all dimensions of our fellowship possible. What are those dimensions of fellowship:

• The Vertical Dimension of Fellowship: we are connected to God the Father through the Holy Spirit each of us. John’s gospel describes it like this: John 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” This morning, while you sit in a church pew, YOU ARE IN CHRIST!

• The Horizontal Dimension of Fellowship: we are connected to each other through the Holy Spirit in each other. We also find this direction in the same chapter of John’s gospel: John 15:12 “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”
