Sin No Nym
Josie loved words.
She liked to clap their sounds and spell them out.
One day she wrote a big word on her paper:
S I N N O N Y M
She giggled.
“Listen! It sounds like sin–no–name.”

Word Play at Home
Daddy peeked over.
“That’s funny,” he said. “What do you think it means?”
Josie tapped her chin.
“Maybe… sin has no name?
Or maybe sin has no other word that means the same!”
> Happy has joyful, big has large,
but sin stands alone; no twin in charge.
Mom smiled.
“You’re on to something.
Sin means saying ‘no’ to God’s way.
It isn’t just being bad—it’s turning from His love.”

At Church
Next Sabbath Josie’s teacher read a verse:
> “If we tell God our sins,
He will forgive us.” (1 John 1:9)
Josie’s hand shot up.
“Sin really has no twin word!
Only Jesus can forgive it.”
Mrs. Green nodded.
“Right! Jesus washes sin away
until it has no name at all.”
> Sin may whisper, dark and grim,
but Jesus’ love erases him.

A Happy Ending
That night Josie wrote in her notebook:
sin — no synonym
Jesus — forgives!
> No more stain and no more blame,
when Jesus calls, sin has no name.
She drew a big heart around the words and prayed,
> “Thank You, Jesus, for taking away my sin
so it has no name at all. Amen.”
Josie smiled as she drifted to sleep.
Her new word wasn’t just fun—
it was a promise of God’s love.
