We learn how God so loved the world.
God sent His Son.
He didn’t just say, “I love you.” He showed it.
He gave something deeply personal. Something costly. Something that met our greatest need.
And in a much smaller, but still powerful way, Fred Rogers—yes, Mister Rogers—modeled that kind of love.
One day, he received a letter from a young boy who said he often felt cold at home and loved the warm sweaters Mister Rogers wore on the show. He joked, “Do you have an extra one you could send me?”
Now, Fred Rogers didn’t have to respond. He had a packed schedule, a national TV show, and hundreds of letters arriving every week. But love isn’t about convenience. It's about care.
So what did he do?
He didn’t just send a sweater. He sent the boy one of his own signature cardigans—hand-knitted by his mother. Something meaningful. Personal. Sacrificial.
He showed love by giving away something that was valuable to him because the boy mattered.
Love gives. Real love costs something. And the kind of love we’re called to show often means sacrificing what’s comfortable, convenient, or easy.
So here’s the question: What cardigan is God asking you to give away today?
What personal part of your life might you be holding back, that—if given—could show someone the heart of Jesus?
