Khris Davis is an outfielder for the Oakland Athletics in the majors.
In 2015, he batted .247 for the year.
In 2016, he batted .247 for the year.
In 2017, he batted .247 for the year.
And during the last season, in 2018, he batted . . . , you guessed it, .247 for the year.
He went 0-for-2 in his final 2018 game to end the season 142-for-576, or .247. This is the first time in Major League history that a player has had the same batting average in four consecutive seasons. I guess for him there’s something to be said for consistency.
As Christians we should have consistency in our lives. We should be the same person at work as we are at home as we are at church as we are at the ball field. It’s a killer to our own spiritual lives and to our evangelistic efforts when we act one way in church and another elsewhere.
How consistent is your life?
