Sermon Illustrations

It can be tough to buy a ripe watermelon. I have bought them when they are over-ripe, mushy, and inedible. In other cases, the still taste "greenish," like a cucumber with sugar on it. But note that on the outside, they look alike. And you can thump and bump. But it is what is on the inside that counts, and it is not until it is sliced that you see what you really have. So the test of life -- the experiences that cut us open -- demonstrate what is on the inside.
