Home School Tutors The U.S. Department of Education’s most recent home schooling survey was in ‘03. It found from ‘99 to ’03 the number of children educated at home had soared 29% percent to 1.1 million students. It also found that, of those, 21% used a tutor. (NY Times 6/5/06)
