Dynamic E-Books The biggest barrier to e-book world domination has to be the screen. An LCD display has much lower resolution than paper, and is reflective. On a PDA reading time is severely limited by battery life. But the dedicated e-book reader is about to make a comeback. Soon to be released Sony Reader and iRex iLiad are about book size and weight; plus use easier-to-read e-paper display technology. Reading time is now no longer limited by hours but by page turns (about 7,500, according to Sony). Plus, any digital media (sound, video, etc.) can be combined with text content today, setting the stage for a whole new breed of creative books and authors. (BBC news 3/27/06)
