The Leader With Helping Hands

A well-known story is told about George Washington.
One day he was riding on horseback when he came to a road where a large log had fallen across the way.
Standing nearby was a corporal. Instead of helping, he was giving orders while two young soldiers strained with all their strength to move the heavy log.
George Washington stopped his horse and asked, "Why don't you help them?"
The corporal stood a little straighter and replied, "Sir, I'm a corporal."
Without saying another word, Washington stepped down from his horse, walked over to the two soldiers, and together they lifted the log and moved it out of the road.
As Washington climbed back into the saddle, he looked at the corporal and quietly said,
"The next time you need help, call your Commander in Chief."
Real leaders don't just tell others what to do.
Real leaders are willing to help.
That's what Jesus did. He didn't stay in heaven and simply tell us how to live. He came to earth, served others, and showed us what love looks like. When we help someone who is struggling, we're following the example of the greatest Leader of all—Jesus.
