Bridesmaids - Apperiances Can Be Deciving
Contributed by J Jeffrey Smead on Nov 19, 2025 (message contributor)
Beloved ... Appearances can be deceiving.
Suppose ... we were to ask the ten Bridesmaids ... to stand in front of us ... in no particular order.
Could you pick out the five foolish ones?
The Answer of course is: No, ... and neither could I.
We could argue about it ... we could all agree, "Number 3 looks a little bored.
Maybe ... she's a foolish Bridesmaid."
Or, "Number 5. ...... She's chewing gum. ... How wise can she be?"
Or, "I know Number 10.
There is no way ... that she is a wise Bridesmaid."
From the details given in the parable ... it is not possible ... to tell by their appearance ... who is wise ... and who is foolish.
And yet ... there was one ... crucial difference.

The Truth About Truth
Contributed by Ajai Prakash on Jul 26, 2012
It may take a crucified church to bring a crucified Christ before the eyes of the world. Christ’s cross makes foolish human wisdom. The cross insults our intelligence (too simple), ability (nothing to do), and ambition (not glory for self).
