Can I Get a Witness?

Raised to Testify!

Lazarus doesn’t have a recorded sermon in Scripture, but he had something just as powerful: a life that pointed to Jesus.

In John 11, his very presence became a testimony that Christ is Lord over death.

After Lazarus was raised, people didn’t have to be convinced with clever arguments. They could see him. They could ask him questions. They could look him in the eyes and know that something only God could do had happened. That’s why, as you read the chapter, you find that many believed—yet others still resisted. A living miracle will draw a crowd, but it also forces a decision.

And that’s where this touches our lives.

Most of us won’t have a Lazarus’s story, but every believer has a testimony: what Christ has forgiven, how He has changed us, and what hope He has put within us. God intends that your life make the gospel believable to the people who watch you at home, at work, and in your community.

You’ve probably heard it said, “People would rather see a sermon than hear one.”

That’s true—our walk should support our words. But there is also a time when we must speak up. Faithful living opens doors, but a clear testimony points people to Christ.

When the Lord gives you the moment, don’t hide your story. Tell what He has done! Share what you know as true! Do not be ashamed to talk about Jesus!

So, here’s the challenge: live in such a way that your testimony has weight and stay ready to share it with humility and love.

Some people will never read a Bible until they first read your life—and then, by God’s grace, they may be ready to hear the gospel from your lips.

Takeaway: Live your testimony so people can see Christ in you—and when God opens the door, speak up and tell what the Lord has done.
