You Don't Love Me Any More!

A married couple was reflecting on their 50th wedding anniversary and all of the great times they had been blessed to share together through the years. The husband was sitting in his recliner and the wife was sitting in her recliner.
“You know something,” she said, “things have really changed since we were young and in love just after our wedding day.”
The husband looked surprised and asked, “What do you mean by that?”
“Well,” said the wife, “you always used to sit very close to me instead of in a separate chair with a remote control for the tv.”
“I can fix that problem,” replied the husband as he got up from his chair and moved over to one end of the couch.
The wife got up and moved to the couch, also. Then the couple sat there for the longest without saying a word. Then the wife began to cry, “You and I used to sit closer than this. We were really in love.”
When the husband heard that, he moved over and sat as close to his sweetheart as he possibly could. “How’s that?” he asked.
“You know, you also used to put your arm around my shoulders and hold me so close.” The husband obliged and put his around his darling and said, “Does that help?”
The wife thought about it and said, “No, something else is missing. You used to lean over close to me and nudge my neck with your nose. Don’t you remember those times?”
So, the frustrated husband nudged her neck with his nose, but, unfortunately, it just wasn’t enough. Here comes one more complaint.
“And Honey, don’t you remember that you also used to nibble on my ear lobes? Don’t you remember that??” the wife complained.
About that time, the husband jumped off the couch and hurried out of the room without saying a word to his wife.
The wife thought to herself, “I’ve run him off. I’ve hurt his feelings and I’ve embarrassed my husband on our 50th anniversary!”
So, the wife yelled out to her husband in the back of the house, “Sweetie, what happened? Why did you leave? Where are you going?”
There was a long pause. Then the sheepish husband yelled out, “Leave me alone…..I’m going to get my teeth!”
It is very possible for even a Christian marriage to drift into a loveless relationship. Jesus warned the Church at Ephesus that they had left their first love and had drifted far away from him. Is it true that you don't love Him the way you used to at the beginning of your new life in Christ? Remember.....repent......and return.
