D.L. Moody was one of the greatest preachers in American history. On November 23, 1899 in the Civic Auditorium in Kansas City, Moody became very sick as he preached. “I must have souls in Kansas City,” he had told the students at his school in Chicago. “Never have I wanted so much to lead men and women to Christ as I do at this meeting in Kansas City!” Yet, there was a throbbing in his chest and he had to hold onto the organ to keep from falling as he preached. However, somehow Moody bravely preached the Gospel and some fifty people responded to trust Christ as their Savior. The next day, Moody left for home, and within the month he went Home to be with the Lord after his last sermon in Kansas City. Up until the very end, Moody was “compelling them to come in" and being faithful to preach the Word of God that he loved with all of his heart.
