Pearl
Contributed by Bala Samson on Jun 23, 2020 (message contributor)
From where do you get pearls? Have you wondered? Do they grow on trees? Can they be found under earth? No…no… Pearls come from a living sea creature: the oyster. Rare, gorgeous round jewels that are not found under the sea, inside the oysters. How is the pearl produced inside the pearl? A foreign particle like sand gets into the oyster, when the sand enters the oyster, it is painful for the oyster because it irritates the soft part of the oyster, it is unable to push away the sand particle out of the shell, hence the sand remains inside the oyster. Then a biological process happens within the oyster and it becomes a PEARL. Who would have thought that out of the rough, broken, coarse-looking shell, as it appears on the outside, through the suffering of the soft oyster, that the glistening loveliness and preciousness of the pearl could be produced Imagine!
Sometimes what irritates us turns into a pearl! Wow! This right here deserves a shout of praise! Hallelujah! Initially, when I said ‘hallelujah’, many of them got irritated, but they don’t understand my pain that finally gave me the praise. Say Hallelujah! Irritations in your life can turn into actual pearls that you could make a necklace out of. You get wisdom out of pain, read: Job 28:18”….And the acquisition of wisdom is above that of pearls. “ When life gets you down and things irritate you, keep your eyes open. Maybe there's a lesson you're supposed to learn. Cultivate patience and persevere through the rough times.
When I was admitted in the hospital during my second pregnancy, which was highly complicated, I would get irritated about a dirty mat in the hospital bathroom but right there in that emergency room, God revealed the huge dirt inside my heart that had to be dealt with and removed. God humbled me with severe pain, complications in pregnancy, uncertainty and the grand finale of the birth of my son Joshua actually brought me to salvation and then my surrender for ministry. My testimony became a channel for the salvation of many of my family members that included my husband also. Did you see that? That pain led you to the real Pearl in your life – His name is Jesus Christ! Amen.
Are you a Pearl seeker? The above scripture says that the merchant was seeking for fine pearls? What are you seeking today? Are you chasing money, big job, slim figure, handsome body, electronic gadgets, palatial house, jewelry, car…? Or are you seeking happiness that only God can offer? Tell me.
