The parable of the Tenants is no doubt a clear reference to Isaiah 5 and Isaiah 27. Jesus addresses rebellious Jews who have historically always been against the men whom God has sent to his people. Instead of welcoming God's servants, they always beat and murdered them. The pinnacle of their rebellion is seen in their murder of the Son of God. That was the point of no return for those rebellious individuals. It's important for us to remember this parable as we are God's people. Do we embrace God's prophets in the pages of the Scriptures? Do we behold and cherish Jesus Christ as the one and only Lord and Savior of the world, or will the Lord's vineyard be stripped away from us to be given to those who actually love and live for Christ?
