About Marie
  • Education: Graduated Nazarene Bible College with a three-year Associate’s in Biblical Studies and am now in the 4th year of River of Life Ministry School.
  • Experience: Since 1975, I have been preaching and, as a former country music entertainer, singing as an evangelist. As one instantly healed (at a Benny Hinn crusade) from 9 years in a wheelchair, I have experienced the touch of the Hand of God physically. I am forever changed and want the world to know that He is still alive and well, and in action today!!!!
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: I pray that the fire that God has kindled in my heart takes hold of yours as well. I pray that the desire to share the joy of knowing God intimately will drive you into action to do so.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: The raising of Lazarus from the dead shortly after I got saved showed me that my Christian life would be a journey with the aid of those whom Jesus chose to help me. That took the fear and seeming impossibility out of my being able to follow His teachings.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: A small boy is clutching his favorite teddy bear as he is watching his friends ride their bicycles outside his window. He really wanted to join them but didn’t have a bike. Then, he hears his dad call his name from the front door. Still clutching the bear, he sees his dad standing inside the door holding a brand new bicycle. He just stood there as his dad said he had to let go of the bear so he could have both hands to ride the bike with. He had to release the bear in order to grasp the handlebars -- a choice that only he could make!!
  • Family: A widow with no children, I have been supplied an "adoptive" family that answered the call God gave them through the Scriptures that tell of the Shunamite woman and Elisha. Since we became family, God has really blessed all of us. I now have a "sister" and her husband, and their two young daughters who I home school.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: My parents are deceased. I wasn’t saved when my dad died, but my mom lived to be proud of her evangelist daughter and her preaching.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: My husband, now deceased, was very supportive of my ministry.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Be sure to keep the message in context. Know to whom it was addressed and why. Then bring it up to date.
  • Books that have had an impact: Pilgrim’s Progress; Every Member Evangelism, The Scarlet Thread of Redemption
  • Hobbies: Bowling, motorcycle riding, playing and singing Country Gospel and Bluegrass Gospel music.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Listen to the sound of marching in the trees ..... God is calling us to prayer. He has "reset" this country to earlier times (before greed really sent prices through the roof) and we need to pray that lessons have been learned -- lessons starting with looking up, for their redemption draweth nigh!!!
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: As a new student preacher in Bible college, I was asked to speak at a nursing home in town. I had a large Bible and lots of notes, but they had a small stand to put them on. Half way through the message, you guessed it, everything ended up on the floor!! I was already shaking out of my boots and that didn’t help any! But I was told a few days later that a man they had been talking with for several months got saved that day and died three days later.
  • What I want on my tombstone: Our gift from God -- His Love
