About Kelly
  • Education: We have worked with several independent churches doing missionary work but now we are with the Salvation Army for 25 plus years.
  • Experience: We lived in 5 different countries for 14 years. We speak Spanish, Portuguese, and ASL (for the deaf). In South America we worked with the ultra rich and the ultra poor evangelizing and ministering with the gospel.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Notice that I keep the theme of the scripture to make the point but go down a few trails before getting back there.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Studies on Revelation making people more aware of the seriousness of current events.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: The Good Samaritan.
  • Family: We have 3 boys and 2 girls between ages 44 and 24.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: My mother liked them all.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She likes most all of them.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Make it culturally relevant for what they are experiencing currently.
  • Books that have had an impact: Bible and... lost count of many books on the subject of new religious movements to church history.
  • Hobbies: Traveling, cultural studies.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: 'Feed my sheep', as Jesus implored Peter to do.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: The electricity shut off during the sermon and had to adjust and explain why God wanted us to have the no electrical experience.
  • What I want on my tombstone: Kelly's life only took on meaning when he found Jesus, and then he lived all of his life to bring His love to others.
