About Johnny
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Troy State University in Troy, Alabama. Master’s Degree in Christian Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana.
  • Experience: Have served at present ministry for 10 years as Children’s Pastor and Missions Director. Have ministered in numerous states, Canada, and Germany through Children Revivals and Mission trips.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Freely use anything that I post. The important thing is that we reach children for Christ.
  • Family: Married to Deborah Brown Wilson for 32 years. I have two adult sons, Colby and Blake. Blake is married to Brooke Tisdale Wilson and they have a newborn son, Jonah Edward Wilson.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: When my dad heard the first sermon I ever delivered (to an adult congregation) he said as he was leaving the church. "Well, I’ve heard worse!"
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: Debbie is my sounding board, she encourages and wants me to discuss my sermon ideas with her. To hear her tell it I have never delivered a poor sermon.
  • Books that have had an impact: Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby
  • Hobbies: Fishing and youth sports
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: Too numerous to mention children always do the unexpected.
  • What I want on my tombstone: Faithful Husband, Loving Father, Caring Servant.
